Someone Brought Me A Computer With A Failed Hard Drive. Installed A New Hard Drive For Them W/no Problem. Tried To Slave Old Hd To The New One And It Would Not Recognize It. Tried All Jumper Settings And Even Put It On Ide 2 As Master Still Wouldnt Recognize. Booted Through (maxtor Dr.) The Maxpro? Or Some Utlity Like That And It Wouldnt Recognize The Drive Either. Is There Any Other Option Besides Sending This Thing Off To A Data Recovery Store Or Is There Some Thing Im Missing. Bios Wont Recognize The Hd. Set To Auto Tried Everything I Could Think Of. Thanks For Any Help In Advance.

trying to get the info off of it is the problem. Its my boss's cpu so wanna try everything before telling him to send it to a data recovery firm.

Look for a little utility Tuff-Lite. They have a pro-version as well.
This boots and runs from just a floppy. If that does not find that HD, you have little else but send it away to Ontrack & co.

You can try File Scavenger, but that is more for deleted files.
