    hi guys

I bought a second or third hand latitude d600 for my wife.
the laptop is from a insolvency and it has a password on the hdd. I want to use the disk for a fresh install - not interested in the data if there are any.

can somebody provide me with a solution?

    thats the code given: #252L2K7WA9B-595B

    thanks in advance!

I'm having a similar problem with a latitude D800. I cleared the bios password, but now have to deal with the HDD password. If I was to just buy a new 2.5 HDD would that solve my problem. Thanks for the help.

Buying a new hdd would solve the hdd password problem. the password is on the hdd otherwise you could swap the hdd and read the 'protected' data in a different computer.
