I went to plug my Hdmi cable into the motherboards (asrock z77 1155) Hdmi port and it would not fit. There is nthing bent either on the cord or the port. The port looks good nothing broken looking about it at all.

I thought Hdmi cables were all the same size. Is it possible that the port was just made wrong? or is there a slightly smaller Hdmi chord? cause it wasn't off by a big scale it was just enough that it would not go in.

Sounds like you have a Display Port - looks just like HDMI but not compatible. Check your mobo documentation.

No it is. Reads Hdmi in the manual.

Use a DVI cable instead? the only difference is that HDMI carries audio as well as video, apart from that DVI looks just as good.

Yeah I was thinking about going that route. Need to get a adapter to go Dvi/Hdmi cause plan on plugging into my tv in wich case I guess I need a gameplan for my audio.
