Hdmi?

  1. I have a Dell XPS M1330 that has an HDMI port that allows me to send both sound and video to a TV. I would like to do the same thing with a desktop. What do I need for this configuration? I've looked for motherboards, graphics cards, and sound cards that would accomplish this without results. Why, if Dell can offer this capability in a laptop, am I having such difficulty finding the necessary desktop hardware?

You'll need to purchase a video card that has HDMI. Then simply route the audio to your video card. Your video should now be sending audio and video signals through the HDMI port.
