    Hi,

I'm currently experiencing some problems with my HSF. It is always at full speed for the past few days, even during idle times and at cool temperatures below 40C.

    My Components are:

    Arctic Freezer Pro 7
    Asus P5K motherboard
    Q6600 processor
    Windows XP

This has only happened for the past 3 days, and I had already changed the settings in the BIOS to enable Qfan and Silent mode, which was working before but not anymore.

    Anyone who can help?

    Thanks

Make sure Pulse Width Modulation is set to Auto in the Bios. Otherwise, you could try using software such as SpeedFan to lower the fan speed. If you have another fan with a four pin motherboard connector you should try connecting it, to make sure the fan on your cooler isn't broken.

I'm not too familiar with the P5K BIOS, but there may be an option to control the fan manually (disable QFan). There may be a setting to adjust the percentage of its full speed spin. Not sure why you would encounter a problem now, especially if you've been using the fan for awhile, but there could be a problem with the HSF itself like TC pointed out.
