Hello This Is My First Post- Bought SATA drive

Bought WD800 Sata Drive from HCDItrading cant get it to format. Have tried everything I can think of anyone have a suggestion?

you need to install sata drivers when windows asks you to.
use your floppy drive.

I recently installed a WD 500G sata drive. First thing I did, using Partition Magic, was to format the drive then make 4 various sized partitions with the first being the system of around 30G. Make sure the narrow flat wire is plugged into the keyed MB connector or a sata PCI board and it's supposed to be set as master if any pins are available to do so. Watch out for the connector on the drives as they are very brittle with no bracing and if broken are NOT covered by warrenty. I use PM but there are other apps. that will do the same job.

if OS see's it thezeus42000 try a 3rd party disc manager
go to your motherboards or the sata controllers website get the drivers for the controller and then try again I don't think you need a floppy disc if your already in a OS mode.
if your doing from a fresh boot with no OS then you need a floppy or cd disc with the drivers on
when asked by OS press F6 load the disc load the drivers finish as prompted
