Hi, i have a problem, I had a partitioned hard drive with windows 7 and windows xp
installed (xp was the original) and i have deleted the partition that had windows 7 on it but the dual boot menu still appears on start-up even though i have deleted the partition. Windows 7 does not appear in boot.ini and the computer still trys to boot up windows 7 even though the partition is deleted so it fails

please can sombody tell me how to get rid of the boot menu

In XP, go to Control Panel, System, Advanced and select system startup, failure and debugging... Make sure Windows XP is listed first in the dropdown box at the top. Uncheck or set to 0 the time to select operating system. Restart the computer

I always handle this kind of problem by editing the boot.ini file.
If you want, you can copy and paste the contents of your boot.ini, and I, or someone else can help you edit it.

This fix will automatically "edit" the boot.ini file with no muss or fuss
