Help getting display on tv

    I just got my dvi to hdmi cord and i'm trying to get my tv to display my pc. I got the wallpaper on my tv but I can't see any icons what am I doing wrong? I have a 9800gtx and i'm running windows vista.

    You got the wallpaper but you can't see any icons? I believe Vista/W7 default multi-display mode is Extended view, meaning just that. Can you see your mouse cursor on your TV screen? Try dragging tye cursor far right (or left) of your screen, does it roll over to the TV monitor? If this is the case, then you're set up. If you really want both displays to show the same, you need to push a setting called "Clone mode". However, in my experience, extended mode is the best. Once you get used to it, not loosing track of the cursor i.e. ^^ ..it's well comfy to be able to eg. pop a video and drag-drop it over at the tv set, then perhaps even fullscreen it there. Fully possible.

    Ok, yeah it's on extended mode how do I get it on clone mode?

    If you only have native graphic drivers installed (no ATI CCC / nVidia control panel):
    Start / Run / desk.cpl

    Through ATI Catalyst Control:
    Start / Run / ccc.exe

    Through nVidia control panel:
    Start / Run / nvidia.cpl
