if the BIOS is password protected read the FAQs in the CPU forum
If the drive is password protected, you need to have administrator privileges or format the drive with a windows CD.

    Hi

If your HD is passworded then see my site and follow the link for "locked hard drives".

link to my site is in my tag..

You can always buy a new drive for the laptop, it will in the long run be a cheaper option, it depends on how valuable the data is on the drive, if your data is valuable then use the link on the site, otherwise search Ebay for 2.5" laptop drives.

However if you replace the drive there is a chance that the password may return as there is a possibility that a ghost image is stored in the password chip on the board (the same chip that holds the passwords you can set in BIOS).

To prevent the new drive from possibly getting locked, you need to flash the BIOS on the laptop and run the DST software on my site.

If you need any more help with this feel free to ask...

    Regards
