HELP laptop running slow

hi guys

i would like your help, my laptop keeps crashing last week i couldn't shut down my laptop for 2 hours. then when i load it up it doesn't go on to the desktop for 5 minutes. Also can you help me with this other problem i have my hard disk drive went from 18 MB to 12 MB and i have a 40 MB disk drive which is term is a 37.2 GB and i am a not a happy person

First download CCleaner and run it.

Go into the "Issues" tab and run that too.

Go to Tools/Start up and delete everything except the firewall and anti -virus.

Run disk defragmenter

If your still not happy,go HERE follow the instructions and post an HJT log in the Security and the Web forum.

what do you mean by tools/start up. are you talking about ccleaner peddant

Yes.

You can also do it through msconfig start up if you want,but as you were already in CCleaner,I thought why not use that.
