well if you can build one for cheap like 600$ mabey a little more then be my geust but that suggetions form graficks where to high price for me. i really dont need that good of one. just better then the one i have cause im just using the money i get for christmas to build this. i dont have a job im 15 and i have no money saved cause i jsut bought guitar hero 2 for the ps2. so if you can find somthing better for that price then let me know.

ok if i go with this combo would that make you happy??? huh i think it looks kind of ok

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138277 = motherboard+cpu combo

and i wont need a sound card wiht this either. that brings the total down to 579.83$

That is no reason to buy junk. There are good and reasonably priced motherboards and cases out there. On some budgets, you may have to avoid PCI-Express video cards, SATA drives, and fancy power supplies.
But the enemy of good is better. What was terrific a year ago is still terrific, and a LOT less expensive... less than half the price.
A respectable case with a good power switch. A high quality power supply of 300 watts (not a cheap one of 400 watts) decent video card, and the better part of your budget spent on memory will get you a very nice gaming machine that will do you well on 90+ percent of the games out there. It won't be good for the games a year or two in the future, but then you can save for the new VISTA machine, or get one of these when they are no longer the top of the pile. Buy a used machine with the rich guy gets bored and wants to move on... provided he hasn't ruined it by overheating and overclocking.
The enemy of "Good" is "Better." But most of what you read is based on sales needs and advertising budgets. There are lots of ways to get a great "Good" machine.

I`m pretty sure that`s what I`m going with. rik said there was no problem with the mobo and cpu. the rest all works with them, so I think it will work. Thank you for helping. If you want to look at the finished product, I`ll post it when I put it together in 4 days.

Edit: Removed capitalisation, it`s called shouting and is considered rude.

It's not gonna be much better than what you have now for gaming...

I would suggest at least 512MB ram for light gaming, 1GB for moderate gaming, and 1.5GB - 2GB for heavy gaming. You will notice lagging with that memory. I do have to say that it is a lot better than your current rig :) .

ok the ram is ganna be more sence it is the same as my computer now. i can pull the 256 out of this and have 512 in the new one

and so you knwo thats not the power supply im getting.... me and rik found a way better one.
