Help me! Touch pad problem

    Hi I need your help again!
    My wife's Laptop a Dell X300 1GB RAM, windows xp. The problem it has is that the left click button on the touch pad sometimes fail to work, occasionally when an external mouse is attached it works, sometimes it does not work at all. I have had the touch pad changed and reformatted the hard disk. The problem still persists, how do I repair it please?

    I re-installed the all drivers.
