With your mass amounts of money, you could use a solid state drive!! at i think 32 gigs and (i think) no real access time...

Thanks - can anyone 100% confirm if this would be more suitable for my needs?

although its probably too late right now.

Never too late - am away on business at the moment so am currently searching for the cheapest sites to buy from (just cos I got money to burn at the moment doesnt mean I wanna waste it one overprices retailers hehe)

how about saving a couple thousand and buy just ONE quad core. When you start running past something like 70% - 90% CPU proceses, then buy another......

Yeah that is a good idea only once I've blown this "spare" budget, I will be focusing fully on the baby when he/she arrives so would rather splash out and get the full works now :D

Can anyone advise me on teh TAGAN brand of PSU's - anyone have experience (good/bad) with them only was thinking about the latest Piperocks BZ 1100/1300 model?

Thanks :D

Tagan is an excellent PSU manufacturer and the BZ 1100 is an awesome PSU. But I tend not to like multiple-rail PSUs and so I prefer ones from Silverstone, Corsair and PC Power & Cooling with large single +12V rails. In fact, I recently changed my PSU from an 850W Enermax Galaxy, which was awesome BTW, to a Corsair 750W PSU. I gave the Enermax to my brother for his new PC.

FYI, there's nothing wrong with having multiple +12V rails. I just like a single +12V rail since it eliminates the wastage of power that takes place on multiple-rail PSUs.

Great thanks - rig been updated accordingly - after reading a couple of reviews on this model I really like the look/sound of it, but wanted to check on here first :D

Also, the SSD will be better adapted to your system, since it's the only option with a raw speed advantage over the others. Go for it IMO. The Cheetahs are optional in that case.

No, there's no difference.

so they charge you and extra hundred bucks for the socket type?!

and nice hdd's how much was it?

Woa the SCSI adapter thingy is $200? hmph. I was just thinking the new 300gig WD VelociRaptors are almost twice the amount of the 150gig ones. Wait.......O.o.......oh........i guess that makes sense>!!?!? the 300gigs are twice the 150 in price O.o............didn't notice that until i wrote it down!! nvm.....im sorta confused right now. ignore me.
