Help please ! - DELL 3100CN - setup to print to it from Internet while traveling

Is there a knowledgeable networking type here that can advise what setup is required to print to the DELL 3100cn laser printer from the Internet

1. I have a Static IP for the Internet service
2. I've assigned the 3100cn a static IP on the LAN (192.168.15.125)
3. I'm using a linksys consumer router (WRT54P2 - Vonage VoIP router)
4. I know the laserjets like to work on LAN Port: 9100

Can I port forward port 9100 on the WAN router to the printer's LAN IP to access the printer?
Then use something like WANstaticIP:9100 to reach the 3100cn on the LAN?

This is the boundary of my knowledge.

All help appreciated!

Yes, that's what you can do if that Dell really listens on port 9100. And if you have a good router, then you can choose some other WAN port.

Mind you, you are opening your printer to anyone on the internet and someone just might want to send 5000 pages of garbage to your printer. Some kind of a print server that supports authentication, a VPN setup, or a simple SSH server would be a much better idea.
