Did you try using System Restore to roll your settings back to a later date?

if you already tried the keboard combination or manual wireless switch, check in Vista to make sure the wireless card is simply not 'disabled', if you see a red X, you can click on it to Enable it. I had this happen to one of my users before.

Also check the bios for wireless adapter enabled!
