Help with connecting my 360 to computer

  1. So, I recently bought this VGA HD AV cable to connect my 360 to my Acer 22' LCD screen. It didn't arrive yet, but will be here tomorrow. So, my monitor supports VGA in, and DVI-D in. As far as I know, I could only use the vga slot, since xbox 360 wouldn't support the dvdi-d.

Will the quality of the picture from vga really be a lot worse than dvi? If so, what adapters could I use to switch to dvi?

I wanted to ask that question while I was here.^^

The main problem I have is,

If I was playing my 360 on my computer, but wanted to switch over to actually using my computer, to get online and do whatever, how would I go about doing so?

I do know I need some kind of box. (That's the knowledge I gained from googling this.)

I just need some expert advice and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of a good/inexpensive box I would need to switch from xbox 360 to computer.

Thanks a ton guy, sorry about the rant. =/

    This is the cable.
