    trying to reinstall Vista, would like to format drive before install how do I do that?

    Just put the Vista installation disc in. Go to where it asks you to partition your drive and just delete the partitions and re-partition them to the size you want.. This isn't fully formatting it but it writes 0's to the drive and effectivly, nothing is there (except if you scan with recovery programs)
