Help with installing a new CD-DVD rom cmbo

I am trying to install a new CD/DVD Rom combo.. i do not know the exact brand becuase i just bought this in an assorted store. (hehe) The combo is detected in bios however in MY computer and Device manager, it is not being detected. I checked it in Add Hardware, it was detected but with a yellow alert, and it says that : "CD/DVC Rom drive is either not installed or detected. Boot file does not exist."

Already defragged and done the basic steps but not successful. Could this be a problem with my OS? What should I do? Please advise a newbie....
