Help with my XPS 410

ok i was googling through to see what i can do with my XPS 410 and wanted to know what kinda things are avalible out there, i am looking for a new processor but need help with knowing what is good out there and what my computer can handle with out to much modification

I know for a fact i have to reformat my computer with vista due to my friend using it and getting me a virus.

Ive had my XPS 410 for about 2 -3 years now and its been doing great for me but the hardware and software is going out of date. i would love to get this computer back up today with out buying a WHOLE new computer from Dell. (im a dell person) My computer is completely stock from the day i got it i havent really done anything to it except clean the inside every 3 months.

well it looks like you can run an intel C2Q q6600 in the 410 but there like $197 besides that looks like a these will work

is the C2Q q6600 the best i can get for my buck??? i honestly have no idea and im very new to adding new hardware to my computer... (except for ram)
 
i would say yeah if you want to get the most from the system but you might need a bios update to make it fully compatible.
