Help with what RAM I need please

    Hi all just bought spare/ repair laptop off ebay .its a
    Advent Laptop 7204 it says DDR2 thats it and its got no ram in it and at mo dont turn on is pin size different etc thanks in advance

    thanks so much for advice and help 200 pin .. the pc2-4200 im sure I can get faster like 5600 cant I or am I mistaken

    Advent 7204 Laptop
    Everything I have seen points to PC2-4200.

    thanks clifford can I not get like pc2-5600 or higher than 4200 or is it set to that specific one .. cheers

    Memory will often down-clock but thats not always the case. It all depends on if your motherboard recognizes the modules and allows them to operate at a slower frequency. Thats not to mention, if the modules are capable of operating at a slower frequency.

    I wish I could guarantee success but I can't.

    does it have to be sodimm too or can it be dimm

    It has to be sodimm, dimm would be too long for the memory socket.
