Help with yet another SATA problem!

I'm trying to install a single SATA disk on an ASUS A8N-E Mobo (an IDE will follow later. Probably.).

I've made a floppy disk using the CD they gave me (which is labeled A8N-SLI for some reason), using D:/Drivers/Sil3112, the Makedisk command in there. It calls it a "softRAID," however, when I put it in the new box and F6 the Windows installation.

Windows appears to load the file, installs normally.

Nothing. I reboot, switch HD to the first, ensure that it's the SATA drive, reboot again, and....it just starts restarting every 5-6 seconds.

Help?

Are you sure you need a driver? I have a SATA as my boot drive and Windows XP (with SP2) installs just fine with no additional drivers.

If you're setting up a RAID you may need to install drivers.

It is NOT a RAID, it is a single HD.

And I've tried it with drivers, without drivers, with a funny hat on, etc.

I've been trying everything all weekend, and I'm out of ideas.
