Here are some of the biggest issues caused by the Windows 10 May 2020 update

Am I the only one to never have any issues with these major updates?

Actually I had a sound driver issue once, just needed to upgrade my soundcard driver and it was all good again.

Plenty of people have no issues. Press just likes to attack MS.

This reads entirely like an MS attack piece. You guys complain MS forces updates which break stuff - so MS stops forcing the update and tells you to wait.

You then bypass the block, install the update, and complain stuff is broken. Bias is clear here.
Microsoft deserve that attack, considering the mess they are doing with every update

For every bug they fix, they break 5 other things. Not to mention their eternally broken networking. I'm amazed that any Windows based server even functions, but then again they probably have their qualified people working on that OS instead of Windows 10...

I'm a gamer and one of the things that affected us in the last upgrade. Realtec HD sound software in Windows Pro has been compromised. The microphone no longer works and in online games a microphone is extremely necessary to talk with your teammates. Players with Windows Home were not affected but those with pro were. So far Microsoft has not replied when myself and others contacted them except to say they know there is a problem. I use a gaming headset that has 7.1 surround sound and connects to my computer with a USB cord. But that no longer works you have to use the sound Jack's on the back of the computer now or you get no sound at all.

Me either, but we don’t know the % affected by these problems so it could be minor in relative terms but the ones affected will be the ones telling the world, those without issues don’t report that in forums. I’m still not going to install this update when it’s available as I like to wait a month or two just in case and issues to be fixed (hopefully) and maybe that’s why I never have problems.

Quite strange the issue exists on Windows 10 Pro and not in Windows 10 Home ...
Do you know why ?

Count driver issues from sound cards to mix as well.
And loads more different issues I encountered reinstalling does not help nor solve anything.
So basically its just another huge fail, instead of a better working product it becomes a liability to use this no longer stable os.
Its clear they aim at tablet (with the ***** phone screens which pisses me off as well).
users and yes they got the young people over to this crap, but one day they get older and find themself stuggling with this tiny crappy screens then they will ask themselfs why o why did I make this choice. I hope by that time real desktop pc are only for the real gamers and the ones with deep pockets then they will know what I mean by my words

The problem seems to be the way Microsoft has written Realtec into the software. Microsoft has a version of Realtec but it's a very basic version no microphone or surround sound is included in it. For some reason it now loads itself first no matter what and won't let the HD version load. Some of us have tried to delete that version and load the HD version. But the minute you reboot your system it's back and the HD is gone so back to square one. Some people have had some success loading a 2015 version of Realtec to get the mic back but there is still no surround sound.

Indeed it tried a insane collection drivers but they get replaced by the non working one from M$ even the old ones gets messed up. Each time it goes into stress and fails to let sound pass through. So when I am gaming, playing music or movies I have to close down my system and reboot to get sound back for about 10 to 40 minutes, then the whole shabam start allover again close all programs and reboot. Rince and repeat all the way... insanity.

Yes some but I for the most part have just let MS do the updates. Sometimes there have been small problems but nothing really big. This time the sound issue really hit me because it messes with what I do most of the time. Also MS says now it was a security issue but if it was the shut us down without a fix.

Some Win10 security update a year ago broke the print spooler on my work computer. If I was lucky I could print 2 or 3 documents or shipping labels before I got messages about printer not found or print spooler failed....sometimes just killing and restarting the print spooler service would let me get a couple more things printed. Eventually the print spooler would just outright stop responding and would require a computer restart.

The security update was the ONLY change to my work computer and the IT guy refused to believe me that the update was causing my problem. He spent nearly 6 hours trying to troubleshoot (reinstall drivers, try completely different printers, update the OS version to the most recent release) the problem before he finally listened to me and uninstalled the update from MS. Once that was removed all my printing issues were fixed. Sadly, since the IT guy had no idea how to prevent MS from pushing this update through and I had to fight with the constant re-install of the update and broken print spooler issues for several days. I told him of a MS tool for Windows 10 located the MS website that could be used for Windows 10 to block unwanted updates - he finally was able to prevent the update from being auto installed on my work computer (I swear I should be doing his job for him).

I hate Windows 10 and the horrific updates they push out.

Some people are lucky to not experience too many issues outside of some minor inconvenience while others have a hell of a time with horrific problems (such as my 3 in the past that the updates broke Windows so bad a repair and safe mode couldn't be accessed to fix the windows problem - so complete OS re-installs were necessary. One of the updates even deleted all the saved pictures in My Pictures folder in My Documents - thankfully I've got multiple back ups.)

This monster started as a very stable OS and then they started changing it for phone, laptop and tablet users from that moment it became the worst os ever.
I wish I could replace it by anything even linux would do if it would really support games, sadly it only capable of a few limited to very basic games.
The ones I play only can be run on a windows platform, however some need the latest DX11+ and that is only in win 10, So I feel been taking hostage by a company and that is a sad thing.

They are not dumb. They are doing it intentionally as ordered.
As much as I disdain Win/10, I don't believe that at all. IMO, they've got new-hires and have no experience with regression testing; Why should they when the users will do it for them instead of abandoning MS products. Learn to vote with your pocketbook.
