I am wondering what i need to get to hook my Xbox360 up to my Samsung Syncmaster 1080p monitor

I want to get the best video quality i can on my monitor

You need a cable that outputs the console’s video signal in VGA format

yeah i know that much :)

But my computer only has 1 VGA input..

Is there some sort of adapter i can get where i can hook both my VGAS up and switch back and forth by flicking a switch? I thought i saw this somewhere a while back

Yea, if your monitor has a HDMI input and is capable of switching between the two signals VGA and HDMI.

Yeah it can....

So what do i need for that? just a normal HDMI cable?

My xbox360 has an HDMI cable and so does my monitor.. My monitor also has built in speakers i believe.

Thanks for your help..

now how will i get sound from my xbox through an HDMI cable if my monitor does not have built in speakers?

There must be a way to get audio from my monitor when playing xbox360 with hdmi

I have an audio out and digital audio out inputs on the back of my monitor.

can i not just hook my speakers up to my monitor like i would with my headphones?

All these different cables and plugs are confusing lol

What kind of monitor do you have? Make and Model

Anyway.....yes....connect the speakers to your audio out ports on your monitor.

u guys do realize theres a vga wire for the 360 for the pc monitors and such

but from wat i read it only does 720p so i might wanna check in to that

other than that the hdmi idea sounds good if u can
