How 2 get internet on laptop?

I just got a asus model A3HF and i wanted to know how to get the internet on it. It has a wireless router built in.It has a modem also in it.
I have a pc with cable already so can i plug that in my laptop?

I believe you mean by "has wireless router built in" that it has a wireless card. If you want wireless internet access, you'll need a wireless router. The wireless router plugs into your cable modem, and sends your internet signal wirelessly. Most wireless routers also include a few wired(ethernet) jacks, so you could still connect the pc desktop with a wire if you want to. This is a pretty popular wireless router.
