How can I recover flash drive data, after corruption in Windows 7

    My 8GB Transcend flash drive became corrupted when I tried opening it on a Windows 7 laptop. It was previously used on a Windows XP laptop.

    A new driver was found for the device when it was inserted in the Windows 7 laptop. After this all the file names turned into dingbat or strange symbols and could'nt be opened. The changed names remained when I put the drive back in the other laptop.

    I checked the Windows XP laptop and flash drive for viruses and registry errors. I found and corrected 86 errors, but the flash drive is no longer recognised on the Windows XP laptop.

    How can I recover my files on the flash drive?

    Download Recuva and do a deep scan. In the meantime do not place any files on the flash drive, as it will overwrite previous information contained within it.

    It should find some data for you.
