How can I tell if I am using Ethernet?

I am using DSL does that tell you anything? What do i need to look for?

start your browser (Internet Explorer is the Windows default browser).

the default 'home page' should appear without any errors or pop-ups.

put http://www.google.com/ in the address bar and hit return.

ps: to have posted on this board - - YOU USED THE INTERNET

if you mean ethernet i.e. a wired connection to the internet
you would need to check in Control Panel>Network and Internet>Manage Network Connections (for Vista) then either Local Area Connection would be highlighted or the Wireless Network Connection would be highlighted.

So its just the difference between wired and wireless?
