How can u release the ip only and not renew, it on 2wire 38000HGV routers

    How can u release the ip only and not renew, it on 2wire 38000HGV routers

    if u go to
    gateway.2wire.net/mdc

    there is a there is a option in there do release and renew the ip address. The problem is it does both, i wont do only release it and not renew it

    Just stick a paperclip in the reset hole on the back of the device... hold it for 30 seconds.

    That does not send the release command to the DHCP servers, So the server will still still hold that IP Address until the lease expireses. The lease on my ip address is 2 weeks so i would would have to keep my router turned of for 15 days to get a new ip address
