How do i change the resolution when i cant SEE my screen!

Long story made short:
i fixed an older but good computer, bought a new monitor and hooked it up. the resolution only worked on the biggest setting, which hurt my eyes. i looked it up and it was because (i think) i was using the VGASave videa card... i made this 'stop' runnign and now i cannot SEE my display at ALL! Please help me, i have been trying for hours!!!! i know the system loads and i can see the SONY followed by the XP loading bars, and then i hear it load and wam thats the end of it i see.... please help

Try tapping F8 at your system's startup and select Last Known Good Confguration, Safe Mode or VGA Mode as your boot option. If you manage to get display with Safe Mode or VGA Mode, undo whatever it is that you did and reboot.
