How much space needed on SSD for Win7 64-bit

    Guys,I m thinking about to buy a SSD.Can u tell me how much space needed for WIN 7 64bit.pls include ur space advice that it will also have latest update of win+20% space free(which I found various forum that it is needed for run win smoothly).How about 32GB SSD??????

    Personally, I wouldn't use anything smaller then a 64GB SSD. A 32GB SSD will be good for a cache drive but not a boot drive. I think the 128GB & 256GB drives work best. They give you a lot of room for OS + Core Programs.

    Win/7 uses three partitions
    • recovery program ~ 100mb
    • recovery image ~ 14gb
    • normal user data 145 GB (on my laptop at least)

    32GB is enough for OS only. However, the whole point of an SSD is to make it speedy for the things that need it: Office programs, Adobe, etc.

    So, you need a 60GB minimum.

    what if I just install OS onlye on ssd and all other programs on HDD?????????????????
