How to check what framerate I am getting in a particular game? An Alt. method needed

  1. Hi,
I want to know that how to know what is the FPS while I am playing the game?? Is the only option to measure this is benchmarking tools?? Or any other method to know this?
Like while playing NFS MW or Carbon, I wanna measure the FPS. So, how to do this? Is there any other way than to download and run benchmarking tools for this very game(if it is available)??

    Help please
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,

I would love one that monitors framrate, GPU temp, and CPU temp when I am in game. No matter what game.

    Fraps can count your FPS.

Some games allow a console command to be run to then display your FPS. For example in Crysis it is: r_displayinfo 1

Xfire now has an FPS counter in games that support Xfire In-game Version 2.
