How to display an image in a discussion?

  1. I know how to upload a small image as an attachment to a discussion I am helping in. But a picture is worth a thousand words, and others seem to be able to place images they have uploaded directly in their post. Please, how is it done?

Use the IMG tags with the image url within it.

Got it! many thanks. A little tricky to find the URL on the site after uploading, but worked that out too....

I uploaded the image first as an attachment to the discussion, then right-click the attachment, copied the URl from properties, pasted it into the discussion page (edit) and added IMG tags. Finally deleted the attachment when I found the image worked fine. Probably not the right way....:) See here http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic132996.html#post855881

You shouldn't attach an image for the purpose of displaying it, rather upload it to the gallery and then copy the source URL -- and obviously don't delete it afterwards either.
