How to fix invalid boot .ini file

  1. Hi guys, I have a 40 GB hardrive that will only start in safe mode as a primary drive because when the XP screen is loading it will freeze and stop. The reason I think this is because it will start perfectly as a secondary drive but still shows the screen
    INVALID BOOT .INI File, as either one. I have already tried to go into the recovery console and rebuild the file but that didn't work. This happened when I went into the recovery console to fix the NTLDR screen. Please help, this hard drive is only a few months old!
