  1. when we are use a Pen drive.. sometime we can't paste or delete any content. it will say write protected. this will happen by virus attack. if we try to format the pen drive through any OS( windows, Linux), we can't format it. it will say unmount volume in Linux. we can only read the items which are in pen drive. if we scan the pen drive with any anti-virus program it will find some viruses(sometime). but it can't heal the viruses. so, how can format the pen drive... if anyone know pls reply...
Note:- if this happen to any pen drive it will create "open as a portable disk" in the right click menu.
so, tell me how to format those pen drives?

HP USB Disk Storage Format Utility
    Http://downloads.pcworld.com/pub/new/utilities/peripherals/SP27608.exe

Will format any USB flash drive
It can be known to recover Flash drives that are un-responsive too.

Note: Some "pen drives" have a write protection small switch on the side of them. Please confirm if this switch (if present) is not in the write protected position

Please let me know of the outcome

If the HP format utility did not work (?)

Then you may be able to download specific software for your pen drive, from the manufactures website (some have this and some don't)
