Hello all, I have a HP laptop which has a problem on the motherboard meaning that the VDU will not display anything. This has happened twice now, the first insitance resulted in a new motherboard being fitted. The laptop is just under 3 years old so am obviously not very impressed. Anyway.. I am looking for some advice on how I can connect this laptop to another in order to retrieve the data on my old laptop. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

VDU= Video Dispay Unit? LCD=Liquid Crystal Display found on most laptops... Can you connect an external monitor to the laptop, and does it display?
