How to make a new post?

    I am a newcomer and have made several posts and replies to posts.

    My question is: What is the usual way to make a new post?

    I can't seem to find any other entry point except to click on Forums and then choose one of the categories listed.

    I've tried the help files and a general search but couldn't find anything on this most basic question.
