How to make windows dual boot, widows 10 and kali linux

To clear some things up.

First of all what will be your general use by having both windows and kali.

When you mention the .iso file what do you mean? When you istall the ISO file from the offical Kali website you will need to extract the compiled disc. I would suggest using Rufus for this.

If you don't need Kali for Wireless Attacks or GPU hashing bruteforces you can just deploy a Kali Linux virtual machine which will simplify everything for you.

Else if you "still" intend or require to dual boot you will need to create a bootable Kali Linux USB. After this is setup you need to allocate the installation inside an Empty Partition. Once the installation is over you will need to find a specific bootfile in the bios to be able to dual boot correctly.

In any case since I'm not so good at explaining I attached the guide I usually use to setup my dual boots.

The bios configuration part is usually required when your bios has UEFI and secure boot enabled, else you can Ignore.

The ISO is only used to create a Bootable, Install -- typically on a CD or thumb drive.
Booting that image does the install to your system HD.
