I shared a drive/folder on my Win XP Pro PC to be available to other PCs in the same workgroup but they can all access that folder without getting any password prompt. I got the 'simple file sharing' disabled. Any ideas ? Thanks.

I don't believe you can do this. I looked for a little bit one day, and came to no avail. It is in win98 which is frustrating, but it may be somewhere.

Put passwords in all the accounts in the XP server. Any computers wanting to connect to this computer will be shown a login screen. This way, only people who knows an account/password on the XP machine can access any resource provided. Connection maintains until the client PC reboots.
