How to play in L4D2 coop without internet?

Hi!

I was just wondering how is it possible to play Left for Dead 2 in LAN if you don't have an internet connection (l4d2 installed via Steam)?

The same goes for Borderlands when it uses Windows Live..?

How is it possible if at all?

Yeah, launch a campaign lobby via "play with friends" and you should be able to change the server to "local server". The game ought to be visible to others on your LAN.

I just had to make a clean install of borderlands so I also tried to crate a LAN Game without the DLC and that worked but when I added the DLC then it could only find "internet games" and no LAN games, why is that?
