HP 500: no video on LCD but VGA out ok

Hi guys,

i have this hp 500 laptop; lcd suddendly stop working. When i power it on, LCD only gets white like if it only got back light. If I plug an external monitor there's image but when switching to the LCD only that white back light.

I've seen thatn when I power it on, for maybe 1 second there are some lines like when getting data but after that 1 sencond the get flushed and then the white screen/back light.

Is this a VGA-to-LCD output problem from the video card? is the LCD screen defective? or the lcd inverter is not working correctly?

Replace the LCD panel. New ones come with the inverter. Not really good to just replace that only. I would replace both. It should take you 15 minutes to remove the panel and another 15 minutes to replace it. Make sure the battery and power is not connected to the laptop.
