Just a quick update for now: The good news is it looks your sound hardware is OK and, in fact, both connected and detected by Windows
fyi: Hi Def Audio connects like this
Windows <===> HD Audio Controller <==> HD Devices
What I can see from your reports:
Your HD Audio Controller appears in dxdiag System Device section and it;s OK (and you'll also find it listed in Device Manager under System Devices)
Code:
Name: High Definition Audio Controller
Device ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS_30A5103C&REV_01\3&E89B380&0&D8
Driver: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys, 6.00.6002.18005 (English), 4/11/2009 05:18:02, 561152 bytes
Your HD Audio device is also detected (it connects to the Controller) now question is: why won't it start? I'll post more when i have a chance to look further
Code:
High Definition Audio Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30A5&REV_1000\4&24FD1344&0&000 1 This device cannot start.
/* EDIT */
p.s. under Sound in Device Manager, to you see only one Hi Def Device listed? or more then one?
