HT Omega or Creative X-Fi

  1. I'm going to buy a new soundcard, but I need help choosing which to get.

    Either a HT Omega
    Creative X-Fi

I'd like a PCI over PCI-E x1 because my PCI-e slot is blocked. Also, I don't like Fatal1ty products very much.

Which is a better product for games? I currently have these headsets.

Thank you, my Onboard sound isn't very good. And the USB soundcard that came with my headset isn't all that great, it has a few features that are nice but it isn't very good.

I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer (non-Fatal1ty) which has worked fine for me. I don't have any experience with the HT Omega so I can't compare it.

I note that the HT Omega and the X-Fi XtremeGamer both have header pins for hooking up your front panel jacks for your headphones.

It's almost impossible to find a X-Fi non fatal1ty any more, NewEgg already dropped most of the X-Fi and replaced it with the crappy Fatal1ty edition.

Note to anyone who wants to buy his stuff: Don't, they are all horrible products.

Not sure what you base this on.
X-Fi FAT is not worse then X-Fi Gamer - it is the same processor.
With FAT version you are getting some onboard memory
    - not a big deal but helps in some games that have support for that.
So, in theory that is a better card.
See the comparison chart for various X-Fi models:

Besides - It is not a big surprise they lowered pricing on all older X-Fi as they have X-Fi Titatnium now - i.e. the PCI express one:,2845,2316939,00.asp
