Maybe you need to turn on your wi-fi (and make sure it is enabled)... Some have a switch and others have a function key. Mine for istance, to turn it on and off, is Fn + F2. take a look at your laptop and see if you have any of those.
Can you surf wirelessly anywhere else?
Please be more specific on how your wireless network is setup and what you mean by your post. I am guessing that by going into "another network connection", you are talking about going into another room and accessing the internet? Or perhaps, picking up someone else's signal?
Is the laptop that won't connect an older laptop? What sort of security do you have enabled on your wireless network? Some older wireless cards cannot access wpa or wpa2 encryption, but can access the older wep 128 encryption system.
Please elaborate.
Have you tried resetting your router yet?
How to do that?Could u tell me step by step?
Simply unplug the power cord for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in. I would do this to your modem first. After all lights have come back on your modem, plug your router back in.
It is just a power cycle reset. After that is completed, if you still have wireless issues, I will help you troubleshoot further.
Interesting... I am going to ask some of my employees other issues that may cause this.
Yesterday I did:
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Nothing happened
My laptop is working properly to other house(other wireless) but not in my house.
1 week ago it was working properly in my house. Now a days not working.I am using Vista home premium and Laptop is HP compac.
and you've set up a new network connection on your laptop for your home?? I've noticed that sometimes with my laptop when I get an update for Vista, it can get all screwy. Usually, I just delete my old setup and try a new one. That usually works for me.
have you tried a manual setup via the Network and Sharing Center?
