I have a laptop with windows 2000 pro and nt and I can't get into windows

My laptop doens't have floppy or cd drives and it won't read the usb until windows is loaded. I've been reading lots of posts about how to get around the password and none of the advice works for me. I can't use any of the offline suggestions. command prompt doesn't work when i'm in 2000 (rather when i'm at the log on screen) the cnt-alt-del idea doesn't work. i can get into dos with nt but I dont' know how to do anything from there. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

i'm sorry i was wrong about a couple of things: my computer thinks it has 98 but it won't boot and i can't find anything about it in dos instead there is a place that says winnt which i think is windows nt but it has no way to boot. sorry. and once again thanks
