Thank you! How do I use it?
  2. kimsland Ex-TechSpotter

Just click on it, save to Desktop
Then double click on the saved reg file and select merge.

But, if you still have issues, you may be better to click Start->Run-> sfc /scannow
You will need your Windows CD during the scan

DarthSakurrachan: I may know your problem. answer the following questions so I can verify it.
do you have an antivirus program? which? any problems with it?

when playing old games (2000 or before), or even new games, does it sometimes tell you that it can't play for problems with the sound card?

when you have the sound on, does it not play all sounds?

is your computer slower than usual? is it beginning to slow down?

your problem may have been partially related to a virus. my other computer currently has a very annoying virus which has slowed it almost to a halt, as well as inhibiting the sound card, which prevents many games from being played.
