I have no sound from my speakers, though my connections look fine

There is no sounds from my speakers .
went 2 control panel :sounds and Audio device
Speaker Settings :change spkr settings
Sounds and Audio Device Properties
volume settings : it says no audio device .
I have checked my speaker connections all r fine .pls help

You need to install your sound drivers correctly, try and find them online or on the cd you would have gotten from the computer manufacturer

Yep, sounds like you don't have the drivers installed.

Without any more details on your hardware and OS we can't provide much more help. I will say that if you installed Windows 7 or Vista on a system with, say a Creative SB Live Value! you won't have any luck, Creative doesn't support old cards in Vista or 7 and Microsoft doesn't have a generic driver for it.
