I have put together a bunch of old parts to build a third and fourth system

both are intel, one mother board is an ASUS P5Q PRO with a SSD hard drive (as) C:, an old GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MGB, with a Intel QC 6600. and 8GIG memory. I can not get it to install Windows of any kind, it will start win7, or XP, then stall out. Can anyone give me a hint as to what might be happening nothing is overclocked at all.

Just make everything is seated correctly and the cpu is not overheating.
Did you reset the bios on both of these? If not, I would do so and then try again.
