The title pretty much sums it up. By every means that I know of my computer doesnt know that I added extra ram. I'm sure that it's the right type, and I didn't have any problems when booting up. So... now what?
    Thanks

Try starting the comp with only the new ram installed, ie remove the old stick and leave the new stick in see if you get any errors. Also make sure that ram is seated properly.

Ok I will try that. Does it matter which slot the new stick is in. Is there a primary and a secondary slot? Or does it not matter?

Problem solved and case closed. I had flip flopped the sticks when I was trying only the new one by itself. It worked fine. Then when I put the old one into the other slot and booted up, my comp found that I had extra memory. Thanks again.
