Ok - I'll do that. I'll be replacing the RAM as soon as possible.

One more thing, I ran Memtest again for around 4 hours and this time it didn't come up with any errors. I'll still be replacing it anyway just incase..

Just ran a virus scan - nothing was found.

    1 Stride38 error

I have just bought some new memory, inserted it and ran the test. I get one error in the Stride38 test. Address expected is different to the one returned.

I know which chip it is, should I sent it back, or is this 1 error acceptable for the system?

    Thanks for your response

I`d recommend you to send it back. You shouldn`t be getting any errors on brand new ram.

    Regards Howard :)

I know it's been a long time, but I've finally had the time to go over and get new RAM.

Upgraded to a gig, wih 2 new 512 memory sticks. In the end, the comp stopped booting up with my old RAM, but with a friends RAM it booted up fine.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed.
