    my desktop computer hp pavilion a645c.....when i start start it up, it loads up and everything then a black screen comes and the box says lsass.exe-operation failed.....the requested operation was unsuccessful.......so does anyone know what to do????

    Can be virus or worm related

    Can download Startup Control Panel from Here
    And remove any link to lsass.exe
    Then restart , to confirm gone

    sounds like your registry is corrupt. RUN chkdsk from your XP CD.
