I need to zero out the hard drive - clean hard drive

I am not really a technical person, but I have windows xp and want to zero out the hard drive and start over. I have some virus that seem to have taken over the systme, I have managed to back up everything I need from the systme.

Can I reboot from the xp cd or do I need tomake a new boot disc

What is the best way to wipe or zero the disc and get rid of everthing.

I have all the disc for the software I want to load, even though I will need to do all the updates for the last couple of years.

Please keep it as simple as possible

Just boot from your Xp CD, and remove the Partition then continue on to a new install

Also Xp is now up to SP3, which includes all those lengthy individual updates over the last few years
